Ian Schwartz is a Corporate Partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where he advises clients on multibillion-dollar and middle-market private investment fund-raisings for institutional and boutique sponsors across a wide variety of investment strategies and structures, including buyout, real estate, credit, infrastructure, venture, hedge funds, fund of funds, and secondary funds. He represents fund sponsors in connection with their internal firm management and compensation arrangements and provides advice on legal and regulatory compliance matters for funds and their investment advisers. Additionally, he represents institutional buyers and sellers in connection with the acquisition and disposition of private fund interests, as well as interests in private investment firms.
Ian serves as an appointed member of the Committee on Private Investment Funds of the New York City Bar Association. He holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated cum laude and served as a member of the Georgetown Law Journal, and a BA from the University of Florida where he was a member of the Honors Program.
