I am a third year undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Psychology at The City College of New York.
I was born and raised in Westmoreland, Jamaica. Growing up in Jamaica and moving to New York has exposed me to many disparities. I am uncomfortable with many of the realities in my communities of the Bronx and Coffee Ground District from the lack of educational opportunities to inadequacies in health care.
These disparities and lack of adequate accessible resources propel me toward a career in medicine with a focus on family medicine. I would like to be the example that I want to see in my communities. I want to be the doctor who made it and came back to change it.
