I was born in Mendoza, Argentina. I am a first-year student at Queens College working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minors in Business and Liberal Arts.
I recently worked at H&R Block as a store manager and greatly enjoyed the challenges of meeting the company’s targets and initiatives, as well as engaging associates to work effectively with a sense of teamwork and accountability. By holding a managerial position with H&R Block, I learned that the emotional and financial well-being of employees is essential in delivering great results within a company. Thus, social skills in a leadership role hold a crucial value to the company success. This experience inspired me to explore careers that allow me to maintain strong relationships with my colleagues as well as the ability to be business-focused within a company to achieve quality results.
I am very proud to be an America Needs You Fellow. Not only is it a privilege to be a part of such an innovative program, but it is of great satisfaction to know that I am a part of the only organization in New York that takes initiative to address awareness of the unfortunate barriers first-generation college students face. The fact that I am a member of such an organization is very humbling and inspiring. In these next two years, I look forward to working with my Mentor Coach to strengthen my professional skills and use my background in finance along with my passion for community outreach to assist underprivileged families in achieving financial stability.
