I am currently a Macaulay Honors student at Baruch College, pursuing a degree in Operations Management. I was first exposed to Operations Management through an internship at JP Morgan Chase & Co. At JP Morgan, I worked with a team in Wholesale Receivables to implement solutions in effort to increase employee engagement and overall efficiency and accuracy of the processes at Wholesale Receivables.
Currently, I am an Operations and Administration intern at Brookfield Corporate Operations (BCO), an entity of Brookfield Asset Management. As an Operations and Administration intern, I work with the Knowledge Management and Training team on several company-wide improvement projects. I work with the team to identify potential problems within the training framework, brainstorm solutions, implement these solutions, and analyze the project’s results. I help the team create solutions to allow the organization’s training materials and knowledge database to be highly accessible, scalable, and sustainable while also maintaining cost-effectiveness.
These two experiences have solidified my interest in Operations Management. I am motivated to help organizations function in the most efficient manner with the least amount of errors. Pursuing a degree in this area will allow me to be in almost any industry, whether it be in consumer technology or finance. Most importantly, I will have the freedom to innovate and have an opportunity to make an impact.
The New York Fellows Program will allow me to further explore careers in Operations Management, while also allowing me to explore other industries. Through the mentorship program, workshops, and other activities, I will know what industry and career path is right for me. I am excited for the two-year journey with the Fellows, Mentor Coaches, and America Needs You team.
