Mason Beard is an Associate Director with CCS Fund Raising, a comprehensive development consulting firm that works with leading non-profit institutions. She graduated from Columbia Business School in 2009, completing an internship in Product Management at JPMorgan Chase between her first and second years. During her time at CBS, she served as a conference co-chair for the Black Business Students Association and her team won third place in KLI Private Equity Firmís Africa Business Plan Competition.
Prior to her MBA, Mason was Assistant Director of the National Program and Outreach Department at the Council on Foreign Relations, a membership organization and nonpartisan foreign policy think tank. In her third year at CFR, she built an Academic Outreach Program from the ground up by developing a new product line, overseeing the design of a new website portal on CFR.org, and engaging in extensive relationship building with leading professors at colleges and universities around the country. Mason graduated Magna Cum Laude from the School of General Studies at Columbia University in 2004 with a BA in Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and Cultures. She focused her studies on Turkey and Turkish language, and spent a semester abroad there her junior year. A native of St. Louis, Mason moved to Philadelphia at age sixteen to spend four years training and performing with the Pennsylvania Ballet Company.
