Kwadwo “Kwad” Acheampong is a native New Yorker from the South Bronx. As an A Better Chance Scholar he received the opportunity to attend Phillips Academy at Andover. After graduating from Duke University in 2006 with an A.B. in Public Policy, Kwad worked as an equities risk trader at Goldman Sachs & Co. for three years. Currently, Kwad is the program manager for Sales and Trading at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, where he leverages his professional experiences to train talented college students of color for Wall Street internships. In addition to the Young Leadership Board of NYNY, Kwad is a part of Teach for America’s Young Professionals Committee, is a Council of Urban Professionals fellow, and is an active fundraiser for Chess-in-the-Schools.
