Allison Villapiano is the Volunteer Engagement Manager at New York Needs You.

Prior to joining NYNY, Allison worked at the International Crisis Group (ICG) and Lazard Asset Management. While at ICG, Allison was involved in all aspects of event management and donor outreach.  At Lazard, she conducted market research in support of a small-cap equity fund.

Allison most recently graduated with a Master of Public Administration degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), a graduate school of Middlebury College.  While at MIIS, Allison also studied Modern Standard Arabic and the Egyptian dialect.  As part of her program, Allison lived in Cairo for six months serving as a Development Consultant at Ashoka Arab World, which supports social entrepreneurs across the Middle East and North Africa.  While there, Allison co-founded the Ashoka Innovation Network (AIN), a forum that matches young professionals with social entrepreneurs who need capacity building and training in business skills and strategies. In her free time, Allison enjoys practicing Arabic, dancing, cooking and serving as a volunteer with New York Cares.
