NYNY Goes Global!

New York Needs You recently partnered with Atlas Service Corps (Atlas Corps), a non-profit focused on addressing social issues by connecting an international community of non-profit leaders to domestic organizations here in the United States.

The Atlas Corps program grants fellowships to experienced and motivated professionals, pairing its Fellows with overseas organizations sharing similar missions and interests. After 12 or 18 months, Fellows return to their home countries, sharing their experiences and implementing what they learned at their host organizations. NYNY has been matched with Alexandru Vasilcenco, a Moldovan professional with more than a decade of experience in the non-profit sector. He founded a non-profit in Moldova called Iuventus Youth Association, which is dedicated to community and youth development. Alexandru also holds Master's degrees in Social Work, Science of Education and Psychology.

Given NYNY's commitment to providing first-generation college students with the tools to succeed, we believe that Alexandru will fit right in as he begins work on the Community Leadership Project.
