NYNY Appoints New Board Members!
The New York Needs You staff and current board would like to welcome three new Governing Board members. The Governing Board is tasked with setting the overall direction and strategy for the organization in addition to exercising fiduciary responsibilities.
New members include:
- Andrea Remyn - Head of Corporate and Business Development for the Financial Products division of Bloomberg L.P. Andrea has previously worked at Standard & Poor, McGraw-Hill and Lehman Brothers in the areas of Strategy, Product Development and Marketing.
- Jamie Sholem - Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co in the Real Estate Principal Investment Area (REPIA) and a former Young Leadership Board Member. Jamie is also a member of the Brown University Annual Fund Young Leadership Council and the Big Brothers of Rhode Island Advisory Board.
- Juan Uribe - Principal in the public equities group at Invus, a global investment management firm. Juan has previously worked at Sandelman Partners, The Boston Consulting Group and First Manhattan Consulting Group as an advisor to clients in a variety of industries.
NYNY is working hard to make a difference in the lives of first-generation college students and these new members will join the 20-member board to lend their expertise and experience. As we begin the 2nd year of operations for the organization, they will prove to be vital assets during this time of growth and reflection.
"We look forward to leveraging the wealth of experience Andrea and Juan will provide around Education, Technology and Strategy, and we are so excited about Jamie's increased commitment to New York Needs You – he has shown incredible commitment to NYNY as a Young Leadership Board member and as a Mentor-Coach for the Fellowship Program. We are thrilled to welcome these talented additions to the NYNY Board!"
- Nicole Lindsay, Executive Director of NYNY
Previous Governing Board members Janelle Alexander, Shawn Anderson and Josh Wolfe have ended their terms and we would like to express our deep gratitude for their service. Thank you!
