Apply for NYNY’s Young Leadership Board today!

New York Needs You is seeking dynamic professionals for its Young Leadership Board (YLB).  The YLB is a group of diverse professionals who are committed to the NYNY mission.  The  mission of NYNY is to support the career aspirations of highly ambitious, first-generation, NYC-based college students by providing mentoring, professional networking, and career development opportunities.

The YLB brings enthusiasm and creativity to further NYNY’s outreach through social events, recruiting, programming and fundraising.  Through group collaboration, YLB members leverage their respective experiences and existing networks to help shape strategic initiatives of the Fellowship.  Since NYNY is extremely invested in the success of each one of its Fellows, the YLB is critical in supporting the development of the program to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the students we serve.

YLB participation provides several unique opportunities:

• Members will actively engage in the growth of a dynamic non-profit that will develop talented first-generation college students into the next generation of leaders
• Members will further develop their leadership and professional skills through committee involvement and organizational activities
• Members will enhance their professional and personal networks – engaging with Fellows, Mentor-Coaches, NYNY Board Members and NYNY event speakers and volunteers

YLB members will be asked to:

• Serve as an ambassador of NYNY leveraging their resources, network and industry experiences
• Attend either in person or telephonically, at least four of the six regularly scheduled meetings per year
• Serve a 1-year term with an option to renew for a second year
• XServe on a YLB Committee (Fellow/Program Support, Recruiting, or Fundraising)
• Participate in NYNY Fellow workshops and YLB fundraising events
