I have a unique background. Born and raised in Yemen, I came to the U.S. in 2006 after my grandfather came in the 1960s and my father came in the 1990s. Coming here was my lifelong dream, and it has molded who I am. Living on both sides of the world showed me the common factors that unite the human race. I want to be involved with politics and international relations to emphasize this unity and create more peace to the world.
Being an NYNY Fellow is important to me for two reasons. The first reason is that I was accepted into NYNY for my qualifications and effort, and that I am moving to the next level of my academic career. The second is that NYNY provides generous support, and I will make use of every opportunity, live up to people’s high expectations, and thank the people at NYNY for all they have done. Thanks to them, I am being introduced to people who are successful in government, and I can learn from their experiences and knowledge skills for my future career in politics.
