College: City College of New York (transferred from College of Staten Island)
Naya
I was born and raised in Bronx, New York. I attend the College of Staten Island. From an early age I knew if I wanted something in this world I would have to work to get it for myself. My drive is fueled by the people who consistently support me and the people who question my motives. My main goal in life is just to experience a life of quality. That meaning what ever I do I am going to put forth beyond 100% effort. With that I said I expect to receive that same quality of result. I have struggled a great deal to get to the success I have gained and it is never ending cycle.
One of my many career aspirations is to be a Social Worker. Of all of my strengths, being able to relate to people is my greatest one. I want to help people see the worth in their own stories just as I realized the worth in mine. I want to help them not only to voice what they feel and think, but to actually hear themselves, and discover things about themselves that they never knew they possessed, or paid much attention to.
The New York Needs You community has helped me recognize my hidden strengths and provides an environment where I can voice my opinions, and comfortably accept constructive criticism from my peers and myself. I want to do the same for others.
