College: Borough of Manhattan Community College
Matthew A.
I currently attend Borough of Manhattan Community College studying Criminology because theories of criminal behavior greatly interest me. I plan to attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the 2012 fall semester. My favorite courses in college are criminology and sociology. I love these subjects because they focus on the study of interactions between people and deviant behavior. One accomplishment that I am extremely proud of is graduating high school at age 16. Entering college at such an early age taught me to mature much faster than my peers and to take responsibility for my own actions.
My dream for the future is to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I plan on completing a Master’s degree in Criminology. This degree will help me to achieve my career aspiration because working for the FBI, agents must know how the criminal mind functions and how people in society interact amongst each other. As a member of the NYNY Fellowship Program, I hope to get a better understanding of what steps I would need to take in order to achieve my goal. I also hope to gain a large network of people that can help me achieve my goal.
