Born and raised in the Spanish Harlem neighborhood, I always knew I wanted something bigger and better in life and I discovered it at a young age. For the first few years of my life I was greatly influenced by the people around me and was introduced to many things like science, reading and art. With a love for science and reading, art had become my passion. Ever since I was five or six years old, I have always wanted to be involved in the arts. Throughout the years I became inspired by cartoons and animation, so I started practicing a different approach to how my drawings looked. The first program I used was CorelDraw and I became utterly obsessed with the idea of designing a piece of artwork on a computer because it produced a result unlike a paper and pen could.
I attended the Digital Media Arts College in Boca Raton Florida as a Graphic Arts major. After completing two semesters under a scholarship, I came back home to attend to a family situation and practiced my drawing and computer art. Reflecting on the present, I am in my second year at The Borough of Manhattan Community College, and I am majoring in Multimedia Programming and Design. I have been building up multiple portfolios of my work and one of my favorite classes is Foundations of Graphic Design with Professor Peterson. I am a member of the Scholarship Society, a club that assists in the development and opportunity workshops for BMCC students. The Scholarship Society provides financial and scholarship information to students and are always open to walk in members. My academic goal is to complete a Masters Degree in the Graphic Arts and Animation field. With the help of the New York Needs You Program, I intend on maintaining a high GPA, gain as much experience from the professionals I interact with, and build upon my professional portfolio.
I would wake up happy to go to work every day if I knew I would be animating, cartooning, or using my artistic or design skills I have to create something new, entertaining and fresh. In ten years, I want to say that I work in the multimedia franchise and I have a Masters degree under my belt. When I think about my future, I am most excited about being involved in a Motion Picture movie, creating a video game, cartoon or animation and being part of a vast team of artists.
