I currently attend Baruch College where I am majoring in Finance & Investments with a double minor in Mathematics and Economics. Prior to this, I spent two years at Queensborough Community College, where I attained my Associates degree with a concentration in Business. For as long as I could remember I never set limits for myself. When I make the decision to get something done, I do everything in my power to do it. That is why the day I decided I would pursue a career in Investment Banking, I wasn't swayed by the statistics of non-target school student success.
Thanks to America Needs You this dream of working on Wall Street as an Investment Banker has become an achievable goal. The summer following my sophomore year at Queensborough, I interned at Mercury Capital Advisors, a Private Equity Placement Agent, where I learned a great amount about the fundraising process for private equity funds. I met great people who were willing to go out of their way to teach me about the private equity business, it was then that I confirmed finance was my passion.
This experience would not have been possible if it wasn't for America Needs You staff who presented me with the opportunity. I leveraged what I learned to successfully secure an Investment Banking Summer Analyst position at J.P. Morgan for their 2015 summer analyst class. This was an especially challenging feat since I had just transferred from Queensborough to Baruch and had yet to receive a GPA for the semester. This meant the multiple banks I interviewed with were only working with my community college experience. It is safe to say that although I had the potential to achieve such success; it wouldn't have been as easy without America Needs You.
