My journey through life has been one of multiple phases. As a high school student, I lacked the motivation and mentorship to succeed. I barely got by with my horrible grades. In fact, college was the last thing on my mind until my life’s ultimate turning point: I was told I could only apply to community colleges with my GPA. The summer before entering my fall semester at Queensborough Community College, I researched different industries to reclaim my future. Through deep analysis of myself and my interests, I realized a career in investment banking is what I saw myself doing for the rest of my life. What was left for me to do was act! Through sheer determination, drive, and intense work ethic, I finished my first year with a 3.83 GPA. I was able to accept my mistakes and turn my life around over one summer, and I am thankful I realized before it was too late.
My current major is Business Administration although I will ultimately transition to a Finance major. I am interested in the different types of valuation techniques and financial statement analysis methods used by current industry specialists and avidly read about current financial news. I am very passionate about finance and do a lot of independent study in my spare time, including pouring over guides on different financial models like a DCF analysis or an LBO model. I find great joy in learning new things that contribute to my future career goals.
