I was born and raised in a small community in Brooklyn. As a child I knew there was more to the world than just Brooklyn and I loved to explore. I had my sights set on exploring the world and I didn’t want to miss a thing. I didn’t even mind getting lost because I knew I would eventually find my way home; the process was a learning experience.
I am currently attending John Jay College and working on obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in International Political Science. As I work toward a career that will ultimately bring me closer to my childhood dream, I have also discovered a passion for community service and believe it’s important to make meaningful contributions to society.
My dream is to become a diplomat because it satisfies the interests and passions I have discovered throughout my life. This is my career goal because it would allow me to mediate and resolve issues. I will also be able to utilize some of my natural assets, such as good listening and communication skills. However, there are other tools that I need for this career path, such as relationship management and networking skills, which I know NYNY will help me develop.
