Danielle
On July 1st, 1991 I came into the world. I don’t remember anything, but the pictures and home videos show that it was a very exciting time for my family, especially because I was their first child. My parents named me Danielle. I was born and raised in Queens, New York and I live with my mom, dad and little sister. The language that my family had taught me was English, but through the years I have acquired a few more. I am currently able to speak Spanish, Italian, German and very little French.
I am attending Queensborough Community College. I was just recently accepted into their Nursing Program. This was a big accomplishment for me because it is a very competitive program. I had to go through a couple of interviews and have high grades in classes that were somewhat difficult for me. I think that this accomplishment made me more confident that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. My top five strengths are Empathy, Adaptive, Developer, Restorative, and Futuristic. These strengths relate to me and Nursing so well, that it helped me become more confident in my decision to become a nurse. My passions are helping people, volunteering, spending time with family, working on muscle cars with my dad, as well as learning languages. I love learning languages because I love being able to understand people of different backgrounds in their own language and learn about their culture and history. Languages also open you up to more experiences and learning opportunities.
My dream career would be working in a hospital, but I'm unsure of what field of nursing I would like to go into. I think I would prefer working with children or in neonatal. I hope New York Needs You can aid me in gaining a sense of direction of where I would like to specialize. My goal is to get my phlebotomy certificate, and get my Bachelors in Nursing (BSN). But who knows what I will achieve; hopefully there are endless opportunities for me!
