College: Baruch College
Anthony
My parents emigrated from China but I have always considered New York City to be my hometown. I have lived here for as long as I can remember and it is where I feel most comfortable. My first language is Cantonese, which is a dialect of the Chinese language, but for the most part, I grew up speaking both Cantonese and English.
As a Baruch College student, my interest would naturally rest upon a business concentration. In a sense, finance is the subject that I find to be of greatest interest to me. Finance is a very general subject and what attracted me was the social consequences of what finance does. But more specifically, raising capital for companies to grow is what helps society in the long run. I connect my interest to the business atmosphere at Baruch. My ultimate goal is to work in the finance industry, and more specifically, the Investment Banking industry. I wish to eventually attend graduate school for an MBA. Finally, NYNY is the organization that can help connect the dots for me. This unique program with goals of helping others like me has a place in a society that never stops giving. Like a river, it never stops streaming for those who need the push.
