Alex
As a child I alternated between my Mother's house on the fourth floor and my Aunt's house on the first floor of the apartment building I live in. The more time I spent with my Aunt Paula and Uncle Miterio, the more our bond solidified; it transcended their roles transforming them into my parents. Paula taught me to be compassionate and loving while Miterio taught me to work with my hands. Miterio wanted me to know, not only understand as a concept, but truly know a hard day's work. These humble beginnings anchor me and consistently remind me of the hard work that my family has invested into my future.
I am currently a rising junior at Hunter College majoring in English, with aspirations of becoming an English teacher before becoming a principal. My career choice stems from my gentle and helpful nature. I have been fortunate to have positive influences that guided me, encouraging me to be the best person I could be. I wish to be in a position to do the same for others and fondly believe education is the best way that I can be influential.
