I am originally from Moscow, Russia, and I came to America in November of 1998 when my family moved into a small apartment in the Bronx. My parents held two jobs each to get by. My mother and father are my inspiration, motivation, and support. I grew up seeing my family work hard but also struggle; this paradox matured me at a young age. I thank them to this day for instilling in me important lessons of appreciation, honesty, and hard work.
I currently attend the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College and am majoring in Economics and Political Science. In pursuit of these interests, I serve as a Senator on the Undergraduate Student Government, serve as a student representative on the Blackboard Policy Advisory Committee, and am a member of the Financial Control Board. After college, I would like to begin my career on Wall Street while attending graduate school to earn either a J.D. or an M.B.A. My long term dream is to work in finance while helping immigrants come to America.
As an NYNY Fellow, I have the opportunity to meet inspirational people, build my network, learn about success, and develop mutually beneficial relationships. I think New York Needs You provides me with tools that I need to succeed, not only in my career, but most importantly, as an individual.
